This series of images consists of overlaid images taken in and around some volcanoes in Central & Eastern Java.
In Javanese thinking, the landscape is not a passive, fixed object - it is an overlaid palimpsest of spirits, tales, and historical change. These images are a response to both place, and that way of framing the world.
