This third series is about distraction. Anything that grabs attention away from the introspection of dealing with cancer was to be welcomed. The odd, the strange, the constant colour & movement of a crowd, or of a religous festival, was almost irresistible in it’s appeal. At times too much so - even now there is a temptation to fill this book with images of distraction & riotous colour, - at the cost of more nuanced & private images & responses.
